Reducing Energy Demand with Youth

REDY

Kingston, London and Toronto, are you REDY for the new green economy? GLOBE’s youth green jobs training program can help. With the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, GLOBE has partnered with the Ontario Association of Youth Employment Centres and Housing Services Inc. to offer a hands-on youth training program on green, sustainable retrofit work. This year 20 youth participants from each of Kingston, London and Toronto will participate in the training.

Windsor Essex Community Housing teamed up with The Now House Project to bring sustainable energy retrofits to five Windsor houses. Retrofits include air sealing and insulation, solar photovoltaic panels, basement insulation, tankless water heaters and much more. 2011-12 Federal ecoEnergy Retrofit Program

The Federal Government has renewed the ecoEnergy Retrofit – Homes Program till March 31, 2012.

Grants are available for housing providers with low-rise residential properties that include single detached, row housing, duplexes, triplexes as well as most low-rise multi-unit residential buildings of three stories or less.
